Water is the most important substance in the world for living beings. The planet's temperatures allow water to occur in its three main physical states: liquid, gaseous and solid. Although the oceans cover most of the Earth's surface, its water is unsuitable for human consumption because of its salinity. Only a small fraction available on the surface of the continents is consumable. We must take care of our water, using it consciously and avoiding excessive pollution.
